Thanks for sending me the announcement. Your nicely written note says it all: she is now in the presence of God and reunited with Uncle Johnnie and other loved ones. She exemplified a strong Christian woman and never wavered from her faith.
Your Tennessee cousin,
Tim [Attebery]
Dear Roger and Janice,
I am sad for your loss. I've felt acquainted with her through you and sense that her strength and character are legacies you will cherish more over time.
I've attached a blessing written by John O'Donohue, my favorite Irish writer. May it bring you some solace.
A Blessing For Grief
by John O’Donohue
When you lose someone you love,
Your life becomes strange,
The ground beneath you gets fragile,
Your thoughts make your eyes unsure;
And some dead echo drags your voice down
Where words have no confidence.
Your heart has grown heavy with loss;
And though this loss has wounded others too,
No one knows what has been taken from you
When the silence of absence deepens.
Flickers of guilt kindle regret
For all that was left unsaid or undone.
There are days when you wake up happy;
Again inside the fullness of life,
Until the moment breaks
And you are thrown back
Onto the black tide of loss.
Days when you have your heart back,
You are able to function well
Until in the middle of work or encounter,
Suddenly with no warning,
You are ambushed by grief.
It becomes hard to trust yourself.
All you can depend on now is that
Sorrow will remain faithful to itself.
More than you, it knows its way
And will find the right time
To pull and pull the rope of grief
Until that coiled hill of tears
Has reduced to its last drop.
Gradually, you will learn acquaintance
With the invisible form of your departed;
And when the work of grief is done,
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
Has awaited your return
All the time.
Much love to you both,
Gail [Webber]
Sorry to hear, but comforting to know she is in a better place. If there is anything I can do to help, let me know. I would be honored to be a pallbearer if needed. We will be praying for your hearts to be comforted by the Holy Spirit.

Thanks, Roger. I will let Mom and Dad know. One of my memories of your mom was that she always had only good things to say about people!!! Great memories ... going to your house when we were kids. Everyone will miss her!

So sorry for your family's loss Roger. Your Mom was a special woman and she will be missed. It is very hard to lose our parents and I know what you are going through. We just lost our precious Mother last year in August. But they are at peace and no more suffering. Prayers for YOU and your family for comfort in your time of grief. God bless your family!

So sorry for your loss. I know too well what you are going through. She lived a full, rich Christian life. There is a celebration in Heaven, the heavenly choir is singing another Angel has gotten their wings. God Bless

Gayle Marino
Truly a virtuous woman; an example for all. Heaven's gain, for sure, but our sympathies and prayers for your family's loss. I attended a memorial service last month that made the point of a Christian's passing should not only be a 'celebration of the life lived', but also a 'celebration of passing from death unto life' and finally seeing Jesus face to face. What a blessed moment for Sis. Marie! May God's comfort and peace be yours.
